Multi Factor Authentication in 2020

The events of 2020 introduced the world to a new working paradigm. Remote working became the norm for many almost overnight. This included employees at Charles Sturt University. To maintain standards of service, Charles Sturt University adopted cloud technology. Before long, working away from the office became routine. This ensured work could continue in physical safety.

After protecting the physical wellbeing of staff, addressing technological safety became paramount. Employees required data security and connection across hundreds of individual locations. Our workplace upheld its commitment to data security thanks to Multi Factor Authentication provided by Duo. Multi Factor Authentication lowers the threat of data breaches. Duo notifications aided in productive workflow without compromising connectivity.

Charles Sturt University employees relied on Duo for a total of 485,496 authentications across 2020.

  • Push notifications: 207,778
  • Passcode notifications: 230,203
  • Phone callbacks: 23,180
  • SMS authentication: 24,278
  • Bypass codes: 57

Our usage contributed to the 8.8 billion worldwide authentications throughout 2020. These authentications came from over 190 countries.

Charles Sturt University will continue to rely on Multi Factor Authentication. A push notification is a free and efficient way to authenticate your login details. Find out why push is the best way to authenticate. Find out more about other Multi Factor Authentication options, both free and those that incur a cost.
