MFA for CRM Users of Office 365 MS Online Services
DIT is working to strengthen security for Microsoft Online Services, including Office365, by implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Security will be improved on the following services for users with access to CRM (Dynamics 365):
- 365 Pro Plus (desktop)
- Office activation
- 365 Office Online
- OneDrive
- SharePoint
- OneNote
- MSTeams
- CRM (Dynamics 365)
- PowerBI
- PowerApps
- PowerPlatform
- Microsoft App Store
- Yammer.com
Cyber-attacks are becoming more prevalent in today’s technology landscape. In 2019 there was a significant increase in the number of attacks against Australian higher education institutions.
MFA strengthens access security by requiring two or more methods – also referred to as factors – to verify your identity. These factors can include something you know – like your Charles Sturt username and password, plus something you have – like a smartphone app to approve authentication requests, a passcode or SMS.
Be prepared
Before MFA becomes mandatory on 30th November, 2020 to access Office 365 Online Services for CRM Users, download the Duo Mobile app and activate MFA via the MFA Tool if you are not already using MFA.
Refer to the Enrol and Activate MFA – Quick Start Guide.
If you don’t own a smartphone or you don’t want to use the Duo Mobile app on another device, there are other MFA authentication options listed in the guide.
Please share this communication with your colleagues to help build awareness.
