The new Charles Sturt University Careers and Skills Hub is live.
The Hub was designed to implement innovative software, applications, and technology to assist Charles Sturt Students and Graduates in obtaining employment.
Following a selection process, the following two cloud hosted solutions were incorporated into the Charles Sturt University Student Portal to create the Careers and Skills Hub.
Abintegro’s Careers Centre 360 application was selected as the Careers Services Hub and Job Boards solution, while Chronus Enterprise Edition application was selected as the mentoring solution.
The new Careers and Skills Hub allows:
- The Outsourcing and automating tasks, like resume reviews
- Skill matching to connect students to working opportunities
- Support to develop employability skills
- Automation data collection and program administration
The solutions were configured to the University branding and requirements, incorporated into the Student Portal and became available to students on 1 April 2021. We thank the Web Office for the amazing job they did configuring these two applications into the Student Portal.
The project was completed on time and under budget. Investigation of further integration of these new applications into the Student Portal by the Web Office is continuing.
The identified outcomes for the project were:
- Improved use of automation and AI tools
- Improved content
- Improved recording of usage data
All of these outcomes were achieved.
In the future we expect the Careers and Skills Hub will see greater success for student employment while also providing the Unversity data to allow us to modify approaches as needed.
This project upholds the university value, “Insightful”, as the Hub examines what employers seek in graduate employees.
Thank you to the project team for their effort in getting this project up and running.
