The Web Office has done a great job of delivering consistent incremental improvements to the overall average accessibility compliance score for our key CSU websites.
In July 2018 our average A&AA compliance score was 94%. That’s up from 89% in January this year.
This uplift is due to significant improvement in our base web templates that ensures that any new sites we are creating comply ‘out of the box’ with 70-80% of the accessibility criteria. This is up from 50-60% compliance a couple of years ago.
We have also worked to ensure a better shared understanding and responsibility for web accessibility across the teams, so that each area is aware of what is required from them to maintain these high standards e.g. whether it be in UI design, content or technical development.
