As part of the Three River University Department of Rural Health telehealth initiative, videoconferencing equipment has been purchased and installed at four of the CSU campuses – Albury, Wagga Wagga, Orange and Dubbo.
The equipment has been designed to allow flexibility when in operation for health student simulation and patient clinics. The videoconferencing units are mobile with battery power, and they are connected to the CSU wireless network.
The units will be incorporated for use, enabling students to complete an online course covering different modules via telehealth. Then if onsite at one of the four campuses, students will be able to include their theoretical knowledge in a practical use of the equipment.
Further work is underway for the use of a patient centric videoconferencing platform that will give our students hands-on experience in a secure training environment that is in practice across NSW health sites.
